Where do the sessions take place?
Sessions take place in your home, at a park (I can recommend a fabulous park) or at another location of our choosing. For newborn or very young babies, I recommend the shoot take place at your home, where they're the most comfortable and you are the most relaxed.
Do you have a studio?
No. At this time I have no studio, nor do I desire to have a studio. I love what I do. I enjoy my work and my clients, but when I do get overworked, I can walk away from the business for a few weeks without having the stress of studio overhead. I come back refreshed and ready to do my best work again.
What is the typical client like? How do I know if you're the right photographer for me?
This is a very important question. I may be the right photographer for you, but then again, I may not be. First look through the images on my website. If these look like the type of images you want, then it would be worth shooting me an email or calling me to talk. If you have something completely different in mind, it would not hurt to call me, but I will be completely honest with you as to whether or not I am the right choice for you.
I am a no-nonsense kind of person. I want you to fall in love with the images I capture of your child(ren). I take my time with your kids, engage them, befriend them, act silly with them, whatever I need to do to get the shot. Your job is simple: 1. make sure they are safe, and 2. relax and allow me to work with them. It's really an easy process - I try not to make it more complicated than it needs to be.
Do you archive files from sessions?
While I can't guarantee that digital files will last, I do my very best to archive files from every session I shoot. If you contact me years down the road looking for your images, it's my goal to still be able to provide you with them. I do guarantee the pricing I charge will not change from the time you book your session to the time you get your proofs, but after six months the pricing of your files will be at the current rates. Your best bet is to purchase right after the session. But in the event that your files are ever lost or damaged, the goal is to be able to get them from me for years to come. I've been working with portrait clients since 2003, and so far I've been able to retrieve all files that have been requested from past sessions.

No. At this time I have no openings.
Do you offer any teaching or training?
I love teaching. If you're in the area and would like to take your photography to the next level, reach out to me and lets talk. I can give instruction at your level and help you move up a notch or two (or more). I can work with you on learning basic- advanced photography or editing, using either Photoshop Elements or Photoshop CC. I have the current versions of both software packages and I'm well versed in them - particularly Photoshop CC.
If you're not in Southern California, or getting together is just not feasible, you can still work with me. I am available to assist you with both photography and editing challenges. I can work your difficult file(s) for you, and then share a video with you of exactly what I did and how I did it. I've done this with others and it has proved to be very helpful.
Can you help me start my own photography business?
I do not offer business or business startup advice other than this: please be selective and cautious in jumping into expensive photography workshops. There is a plethora of information availble in books and online. I cringe when I see honest, hard working people throwing money away on workshops that will teach them little more than what a quick google search could have taught. Some seminars may be worth the money - but many won't be.
