{"id":4074,"date":"2016-10-08T16:09:21","date_gmt":"2016-10-08T23:09:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/debbielundphoto.com\/blog\/?p=4074"},"modified":"2023-12-19T11:55:06","modified_gmt":"2023-12-19T19:55:06","slug":"autumn-photoshop-tutorial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/debbielundphoto.com\/blog\/autumn-photoshop-tutorial\/","title":{"rendered":"Summer to Autumn Photoshop Tutorial"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #666666; font-size: 1.625rem;\">Autumn Photoshop Tutorial Video<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Here in Southern California, our autumn looks and feels a lot like summer. &nbsp;But sometimes you just want to have that warm, golden look of fall. &nbsp;So I&#8217;m going to show you in 8 minutes how to change the look of your image in this Autumn Photoshop tutorial.&nbsp;<!--more--><\/p>\n<h4>Since I wanted to show how quickly you can make this change, I didn&#8217;t do any explaining as I went &#8211; Just a quiet video showing every step I took. &nbsp;<\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Summer To Autumn Photoshop Edit\" width=\"697\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VtAmgdsGuyI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a rundown to let you know my starting and ending point. &nbsp;I didn&#8217;t have a plan when I started, so in this video is I&#8217;m really winging it. &nbsp;And remember &#8211; Photoshop is such a powerful program there are probably 20 other ways to do this &#8211; but this is what I came up with. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The beginning image is just straight from Camera Raw. &nbsp;I did minimal adjustments and opened it, then started recording.<\/li>\n<li>You&#8217;ll see me fix a few tiny blemishes &#8211; mostly using the patch tool &amp; cloning tool. &nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>I do some color correcting. &nbsp;The white shirt had a very blue cast to it. &nbsp;That gets removed. &nbsp;Also, the white shirt threw some color casting on his cheeks and under his lip. &nbsp;I fix that, too.<\/li>\n<li>Then I use a plugin called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imagenomic.com\/download.aspx?product=portraiture\">Portraiture<\/a> to gently soften his skin. &nbsp;Unfortunately this costs quite a bit of money. &nbsp;But you can get the same basic effect&nbsp;without the plugin; hit&nbsp;command+option+shift+E. &nbsp;This will create a new layer on top using all your layers underneath. &nbsp;Run a slight gaussian blur on this layer, then drop a mask on the&nbsp;layer. &nbsp;Hit command+I to invert the mask (make it black) &nbsp;then brush in the skin where you want it softened. &nbsp;Just don&#8217;t over do it. &nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Then I change out the background colors.<\/li>\n<li>I finish up by doing some minor adjustments.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>From this point you can do any other edits\/adjustments that you&#8217;d like. &nbsp;Maybe pull back the saturation a bit, add a vignette, whatever looks best to you.<\/p>\n<p>As you watch the video, keep an eye on what tools&nbsp;I&#8217;m using. &nbsp;I use as many keyboard shortcuts as I can in Photoshop &#8211; it makes the work go so much faster! So when you see the tool change, if you&#8217;re not sure what it is just pause the video and glance at the left side to see what tool is selected. &nbsp;And there are a few spots where random tools get selected and not used, so this probably could have been even quicker without that![\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text
