It&#8217;s long, so I&#8217;d recommend putting it on while you&#8217;re doing busy work around the house. You can find the book here.<\/p>\n<p>Now back to the turkey burger recipe.&nbsp; It&#8217;s a little more complicated than in the cookbook, but it&#8217;s worth it, because it actually tastes <em>much<\/em> better when you make it this way.&nbsp; It&#8217;s a multi-step process, as outlined here:[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Excitotoxins-Taste-Russell-L-Blaylock\/dp\/0929173252\/ref=as_li_ss_il?&amp;linkCode=li2&amp;tag=debblundphotb-20&amp;linkId=c4f92241356c181fb671ac97e5068876\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/\/ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/widgets\/q?_encoding=UTF8&amp;ASIN=0929173252&amp;Format=_SL160_&amp;ID=AsinImage&amp;MarketPlace=US&amp;ServiceVersion=20070822&amp;WS=1&amp;tag=debblundphotb-20\" border=\"0\"><\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;\" src=\"https:\/\/ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=debblundphotb-20&amp;l=li2&amp;o=1&amp;a=0929173252\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\">[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<strong>Step 1: Preparing the seasonings:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1 Tbsp onion powder<br \/>\n1 Tbsp garlic powder<br \/>\n2 Tbsp dried oregano<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp pepper<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp dried thyme<br \/>\n1 tsp dried basil<br \/>\n1 Tbsp dried parsley<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp celery salt<br \/>\na few quick dashes of pure stevia powder<br \/>\n1 tsp sea salt<\/p>\n<p><strong>Instructions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a small bowl, mix all of the seasonings together.&nbsp; Set aside 1\/3 cup for the burgers and use the remaining seasons in the Greek Salsa.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<strong>Step 2: Make the Greek Salsa<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2 Tbsp white wine vinegar<br \/>\n2 Tsp extra light olive oil<br \/>\nSeasonings mix (all except the 1\/3 cup set aside for the burgers)<br \/>\n1 medium tomato, chopped<br \/>\n1 medium cucumber, peeled &amp; chopped<br \/>\n1 small can chopped black olives (or use a larger can if you love olives)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Instructions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a small bowl, mix the oil, vinegar and seasonings together.<\/p>\n<p>In a medium bowl, mix the tomatoes, cucumbers and olives.&nbsp; Pour in the dressing and mix well.&nbsp; Set aside.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator border_width=&#8221;2&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<strong>Step 3: Prepare the Burgers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2 slices of sourdough bread, dried and crumbled (roughly 1\/3 cup breadcrumbs) &#8211;<br \/>\n<em>~ Look for sourdough bread that has just the basic, real food ingredients.&nbsp; You can even make your own:<a href=\"http:\/\/gnowfglins.com\/2009\/09\/10\/spelt-sourdough-bread\/\" target=\"_blank\"> here&#8217;s a delicious looking recipe!<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>1\/3 cup onion, chopped finely<br \/>\n1 egg white, slightly beaten<br \/>\n1 Tbsp milk<br \/>\n1\/3 cup seasoning mix<br \/>\n1 lb ground turkey<br \/>\nCrumbled Feta Cheese[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<strong>Burger Instructions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mix all the burger ingredients (except for the Feta cheese) together and form into 4-6 patties, depending on your preferences.&nbsp; Cook them up, either on the grill or stove and make sure the turkey is cooked completely.&nbsp; According to <a href=\"http:\/\/http:\/\/www.consumerreports.org\/cro\/news\/2013\/07\/cook-your-turkey-burgers-and-hamburgers-the-right-way\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Consumer Reports<\/a>, turkey burgers should be cooked to at least 165\u00b0 F.&nbsp; A simple <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2dTVtzJ\">meat thermometer like this one<\/a> should do the trick to make sure the meat is adequately cooked.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]To serve the Greek Turkey Burgers, I like to put the burger on a bed of lettuce and add sliced tomatoes and onions in addition to the Greek Salsa.&nbsp; Add the crumbled Feta on top.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I also serve my family pita bread on the side (as shown in the picture), but I don&#8217;t think it adds anything to the meal.&nbsp; The burgers with the Greek salsa and Feta cheese are so flavorful, you don&#8217;t need the added bread.&nbsp; And that&#8217;s saying a LOT, because I love bread!
